Just had a quick look around the web can't find evidence that Nick hoaxed this video. There is a lot of speculation. Also the video that is claimed to show him revealing how he pulled of this hoax doesn't work. I don't know if it is hoax. I am no expert.

The person who wrote the article has claimed. Nick wasn't in the United Arab Emirates on the dates he claimed. And how do you know this? He doesn't say. He say's he was at the Ibn Battutu shopping mall in Dubai. How do you know that? some information. There is lack of information by this person refuting the video.

It probably is a hoax. Like said I'm No expert. I found it interesting when I watched it.

I don't know. Only came across this video a couple of hours ago. If It was hoaxed eyewitnesses would be irrelevant. It looks like it was filmed outside to me because Buildings edges could be seen when he zoomed back from looking at the objects. It's a puzzle really.
 
don't have the skill to make any kind of guess as to authenticity, but it's definitely interesting to look at, real or not. only thing that made my eyebrows raise was that in one part he was able to zoom in pretty damn close and retain a whole lot of detail. hand-held consumer video cams have probably come a long way but it seems atypical when compared to most sighting videos when the shooter attempts to get a tight shot. it is semi-daylight though so maybe that helps? dunno. cool vid though.

*EDIT: jeez well i just looked at the stuff regarding the shopping mall ceiling so that's about it. nothing to see here.
