This is a weird one, if reported facts are true. Perfectly consistent width/depth of lines, 1/4 mile diameter - and no footprints, tyre tracks etc nearby. Also, the actual volume of removed dirt is large - where is it?
Apparently some people have claimed they made it, but have not given explanations on the outstanding questions...
Worth a look.

I ran across this quite some time ago and if I recall correctly it had something to do with being a prop for a movie that never fully materialized ... but now I can't seem to find the reference anymore. Other people have laid claim to creating it as an environmental art project, but their supporting evidence is poor. It's a very Earthly design using Earthly measurements ( inches ). I'll try to find that reference again. In the meantime, here's the reference to the person who claims responsibility for the work: Sriyantra in the Alvord Desert

Computers have been engraving and burning images into smaller objects for years, can make exact duplications of almost anything. 3d printers can take it up a few notches making objects in 3D.....so if you took that technology and hooked it to a larger much more powerful beam of some kind , then took that contraption and attached it to an airborne vehicle you would have a crop circle maker.

I'm not sure if this is true, but it sounds like a possibility.....it is claimed that the US has had holographic imagery devices for awhile now. People claim to have seem perfect images of eagles and other shapes in clouds. Far too perfect and precision to be simply the clouds themselves. Apparently this endeavor was the result of weapons technology designed to somehow fool the enemy. IF this is true, then how much more difficult is it to think something we have is engraving the ground?

Why would any intelligent entity other than mankind bother with such things?

I've been floating the particle beam theory for crop circles for years now. It explains how very large intricate crop circles could appear in a short period of time, along with the trace radiation, superheating of stems, and even glowing orbs near the fields. It's also well within the reach of human technology. No space-aliens required. However the mandala engraving would be another matter. There's too much material involved to simply vaporize it without leaving vitrified trace evidence. The most likely explanation is that it's a human creation, if not by the artist who claims responsibility, but by other people. I doubt that aliens would use the inch as a unit of measure. Plus, if communication was their goal, it just doesn't make any sense for them to do it that way.

whats also crazy is that the military have been messing with masers since the 50s! I mean how far has Maser tech come in the last 60 years and why dont we know about it.
