Essential Reading in Ufology?

For someone looking to get deeper into ufology research what would you say are the canonical books a researcher should read for a good breadth of subject knowledge and that the information is as good as can be from a credibility standpoint?

I would say to start from an historical perspective of the phenomenon, which is considered to have begun (in the modern era anyway) sometime around or just after WWII, and work outward from there. Two of my favorite authors on the subject are the late J. Allen Hynek, and Jaques Vallee. Opinions, of course, will vary. I would also steer clear of any author who claims to have definitive and concrete answers to this mystery.
