ET wouldn't rattle most believers

Free episodes:

If humans can deal with catholicism I would hope we could handle ets.

I do think people would be rattled if it's confirmed that ets are kidnapping people, mutilating animals, messing with weapons systems, played a part in our evolution, and the gov. has been covering this up etc. Any or all of that would rattle a lot of people.

But ET life confirmed out there, that doesn't come here, wouldn't rattle anyone with a lick of sense. Namely, non-fundamentalists.

Here's where I steal a page from a friend and tell you that you only think that's true because right now it's a fantasy scenario. But just as watching a thousand action movies where the World Trade Center blows up does not prepare one for the shell shock of the actual event, so it goes with a landing.

Humans have been programmed and conditioned to believe that we are at the top of the food chain since day 1. We've grown used to having dominion over every species, and every other form of life to do with as we please. and We've taught ourselves that we are the children of a great and powerful GOD.

WE carry around a book of his teachings to prove it. We are static and unwavering in our belief, and no amount of science will change that fact.
Many tribes of people have different interpretations of these words. They hate, vilify and wage wars on those who don't fall inline with their line of teachings.

Theses types of events happened when man first started fighting over whether the sun and the moon were good or evil. They picked sides and started killing each other over it. Its absolutely no different than today. We are just more efficient at killing each other now.

There was a story that just came out that said over 50% of sick people believe prayer is better than going to the doctor. That's just in the United States. That doesn't include all the 3rd world who still kill people because they think they are witches or have put a curse on them because their cow died.

If humans finally realized that were were not the top dog anymore, what do do think will happen? Most of the religious people with call them demons and wage war. Non religious people will attack out of ignorance or fear or because its different and they can't watch american idol anymore. Humans destroy what they don't understand. Its our nature. These beings know this.

They will never land. There will never be any type of disclosure. Ever. If there is, the world will burn.

The universe can't really get bigger... I mean what's bigger than infinite?

It would absolutely make US smaller.

What's bigger than infinity? ....Infinity + 1, ...of course! (Bada-BING)

As for humanity blowing up, maybe some small minded segments would totally freak and need euthanizing, but once the initial shock was over, people would see that life goes on pretty much as it always has.
Then it would be back to business as usual.

Pardon me and at risk of seeming argumentative But ......

I didnt think that the Universe was Infinate. I thought that At some point it does end.

Current view is it's finite but unbounded. Consider if 3d or 4d was 2d, then walk the surface of Earth. There is no end. Vision a balloon and walk along the surface. That sort of thing.

Whether or not something seems smaller or larger is hinged upon perception of the one observing.

I'm no Astro Physiscst but......

The Universe is expanding outwards from a central point. Like the riple in a puddle. At the edge of the riple is nothingness.

If it was just e.t then prob it wouldn't be too bad, depends how many e.t horror stories i can get away with, before and if any e.t's turn up. :)

There's a limit to what we can see but nothing to tell us what's beyond that. It may be that the universe contains a finite amount of energy and matter but sits within an infinite void which is still technically the universe and therefore it's infinite.

That's a really great question - Does the universe seem bigger or smaller if they land?

I'd say we're such isolated narcissists that it would seem smaller to us. The more we discover, the more "concrete " life becomes the smaller we feel because answers are endings and endings are binding. Questions are freedom; questions are exploration.

I never thought of it this way but, what happens to us when the avenue of imagination is cut off? That's what would happen, right? Now there are aliens. No more wondering there. And they know the stuff we imagine about space/time, perhaps religious and spiritual questions--perhaps even questions about our ancient past. No more wondering there.

Fast food doesn't lead to more free time, it leads to a heart attack while you're doing other things.

This Church notion that we can welcome our new family in Christ's name is just insane. "Welcome to our delusion." But it's no more insane than thinking, as the disclosure movement does, that we can welcome them to our politics.

In short, we cannot welcome them because we're deranged and would only try to drag them down into the muck of our familiarity, like toddlers expecting the family pet to speak our language. When they don't do that, we'll pretend that they do, thus opening our imaginations again. When that happens, I wonder if we'd treat them like imaginary friends or imaginary foes?

It seems like every Planet in our Universe is shaped like a ball, Maybe space does end at a certain point. My logic if there is any in this" Could everything that exists in space including us be on a Planet or in a Ball shape of some sort which so vast that you could almost call it infinite. I dont want to expand too much on this theory because it might be a little crazy:)

as long as they dont come from Malmac and want to eat the worlds cats.

but dont hold your breath for motherships over the worlds capitals, its more likely we wont enter into any sort of real dialoge with these entities until we park our motherships over their planets major citys.

Even the most optimistic of us must admit that we have a long way to go before we can truly consider ourselves a global community.
Perhaps that is the first step towards formal, first contact.
Would the answers they could give us outweigh our fear of them?
I don't know. Are we really mature enough, (as a species) to endure such a humbling experience? Well, we are very adaptive. There would be social upheaval for sure. Regardless of individual or tribal reactions., puppies have to be weaned off the tit eventually.

Closed infinities. How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?
