Evelyn Paglini Has Died

Free episodes:

Paranormal Adept
There seems to be some mixed feelings about Evelyn Paglini in older threads. For those who might be interested, I just saw that she has passed away. I can't say she was a guest I was interested in listening to on C2C (sadly there aren't many I like listening to these days - I mean besides the one and only Chris O'Brien :D), but she was still a part of the publicly visible side of the paranormal world.

There's an update on her Facebook page which also mentions that her website Mystical Blend will be shut down (sometime in the near future):

Dr. Evelyn Paglini | Facebook

If nothing else, I find the different perspectives on Paglini's abilities interesting - especially here where such a diverse group of people tend to mingle. Death is tragic but it comes for us all in the end - even those of us who may have the ability to see beyond our time.

Evelyn Paglini seemed like a nice person. However, she does have skeletons in her closet. For one, she used to be a practicing satanist and founded her own satanic church in Chicago in 1974. In the 1980s she, all of a sudden, claimed she was now a "stregha witch." She claimed she was the sole surviving heir to a thousand year old lineage of witches. She claimed her grandfather received the title of "mage" in this tradition and chose her at age 4 to bestow this power upon. Of course she was either lying through her teeth or she was severely delusional. Her psychic predictions are vague, as in "There will be severe ice and snow storms this Winter" and "This Summer there will be heat waves." All of her spells require people to purchase expensive oils, candles and other items from her shop.

Ya, the grandiose claims of being from a 1,000 year lineage seems a bit out there. I am more inclined to believe someone who isn't talking up their ego over someone who puts themselves on a pedestal like that. I didn't know about her satanic ties (not that I ever did any research on her). Seems like a pretty dramatic change in belief system so I wonder if it was all a farce or if she really believed what she preached.

I have seen some people back up her abilities at predicting events. I would be curious to see an instance of two where she was spot on (or really close) with something that wasn't vague and predictable.

The site below tracked her predictions from 2009-2011. Out of 16 predictions, 15 were misses and one was predicted for the year 2014, which had yet to occur, and was "extreme weather". Such prediction is too general. You can also visit her Facebook page and read even more inane "predictions", such as: "This is going to be a very severe FIRE season for California due to all the drought." Duh. She didn't predict the drought. The drought was already happening. Whenever there's drought the fire danger rises drastically. Some prediction. The majority of her predictions are like this. To paraphrase her, "This Winter will be very cold an there will be many storms", "This summer there will be heat waves." Some psychic!

I'll never understand why people buy into that kind of thing so easily. I get that someone with psychic abilities can't necessarily predict everything, that they may only get a random glimpse here and there, but come on. You really should have to do better than that to claim any kind of special ability. I guess there are enough suckers out there who are willing to part with their money to make a career out of it.
