Rener breaks down the Rhonda Rousey victory (that should not have happened).

Koshi Guruma, the jump-across, and the levering loose of the jujigatame are freakin blue belt techniques that any purple belt defends against without thinking!

These techniques should *never* succeed in professional matches.

It irritates me to no end when people fight at this level without knowing fundamentals. That should not happen.

I used to watch MMA/UFC until I realsied how it brings out the worst in people (the commentators included).

I will freely admit that I have no problem with two people voluntarily fighting, in fact I find it fascinating, however my experience with "UFC" left me feeling disturbed and I will no longer support it /watch it.

The reason I no longer agree with MMA is that due to the Frank Mir vs Antonio Rodrigo Minotauro Fight "UFC 140" (10/12/11).
In my opinion what happened in the fight itself was not "wrong" but the total lack of respect and empathy from the commentators/announcers was genuinely shocking, and was a million miles away from the "Martial Code" as I understand it.
The way I see it is that the announcers are the "masters of Ceremony" and have a responsibility to conduct themselves in a "respectful" manner.

Here is a video of the incident, as I said before it is not the fact that a limb was broken that offends me, it is the reaction of the commentators/announcers.

(WARNING GRAPHIC)

I have not watched any MMA/UFC fights since this one, and I don't think I will again, especially after I learned that people (supposed MMA Fans) were using the internet to share X-Ray images of Antonio Rodrigo Minotauro's dislocated and broken shoulder/arm, I was naive enough to previously think that there was an "unspoken" oath or code of respect.
that illusion was shattered when I learned of the "X-factor/Big Brother style" MMA/UFC show. One other issue is that some younger people will inevitably have access to "watch" UFC/MMA fights so the need for good "ethics" is paramount, but in my opinion MMA/UFC/whatever they re-brand it as next, is just a big meat grinder, and a lot of "unsuitable" combatants will be allowed and even encouraged to fight because "money" and "entertainment" take precedence over morals.
But hey that's business I guess, so as I said before all I can do, is to not watch it in protest.

MMA fighters do generally respect each other.

Backstage the old timers laugh and have fun with each other. It's always the new teams that walk in with attitude. Everyone laughs at them. After some time on the circuit they grow up and chill out.

You think that irritates you to no end? What irritates me to no end is that the analysis wasn't also done by hot chicks :D.

Women's MMA is no where near as developed as men's right now, the money just wasn't there until just recently. Fights are all based on who can sell anyway, not necessarily the most qualified. I don't care for Ronda personally (she's an unlikable female version of a Diaz brother IMO), but she is one of the few legit high level female fighters out there. Olympic judo, as blitzkrieg as they come, almost always gets in dominant positions early to make it downhill for her opponent, yada yada. Carano is done, Cyborg won't cut to 135, and there's just not much name power generated yet in the division - so they give her the chic with breast implants that has been on TV once or twice before and do everything they can to sell it. This card is priced $5 higher than normal for some dumb reason, grr.
