Skilled Investigator
Would like to know what has scared you, in the realm of entertainment.
I know the original Amytiville Horror is seen as a bit of a clunker by most, but I gotta say, it still frightens me, along with 'The Entity'.
Never thought the Exorcist was particularly frightening, however the tiny flashes of the leering white face still freaks me out.
Other things that scare me are:
the BBC one off fake 'live investigation' Ghost watch' (that I have previously mentioned in another thread),
'Threads' - terrifying docudrama about a possible nuclear exchange from the point of view of regular people in '80s Sheffield (similar to the US one, with Steve Guttenberg and John Lithgow, 'the day after', I think it's called).
'The War Game' - another UK nuclear holocaust docudrama from the 50s, that was banned for awhile (it can be seen on youtube)
The series of UK 'protect and survive' infomercials, again from the 80s, with utterly scary plinky child-like music and animation detailing how to survive a nuclear conflict (again, youtube if interested)
'The Omen' - the ORIGINAL.
And Jeff Wayne's 'War Of The Worlds', the 70s musical: the tripods sound more like overly camp Darleks to me now, but still a terrifying listening experience for me - and the artwork in the acompanying book is eerie as hell (check out the street massacre scene near the middle too - there's a woman holding her child that's IDENTICAL to the famous screenshot of Regan and her mum in the Exorcist - the illustrator must have been a fan, or that's one creepy coincidence!)
