Forums of the Future?

Just curious, does anybody know of anyone out there who is working on a technology for forums where you could just talk at your computer, and listen to replies in audio / video without the slowness of starting individual videos and paging?

Would that be advantageous or not? Would people like it? What do you think?

i chat face to face with audio with 3 other family members all the time. my brother in homer alaska, my kids in minneapolis and my father in rochester. we can all talk, we can all see each other. and it is free if you have a Mac, iChat and an internet connection.

Mac based Paracasters could easily chat with each other 4 at a time as well.

you do not need a Mac to video chat one on one. in order to chat with up to 4 people you need at least OSX Leopard i think. anyone interested?

Google Wave has some of the potential you're talking about. It's still in it's infancy but many are jazzed and working on it.
