Dr. Nora Noffke at Old Dominion University is a recognized expert on Microbial Mats and their fossil remnants on Earth. Now she sees something on a sandstone outcrop called Gillespie Lake in recent Curiosity rover images from Mars that look familiar to her. She has just published a paper in Astrobiology that makes a detailed case for the hypothesis.

The interview went well, except for the usual dropped Skype packets. Her English is perfect and her German accent is barely noticeable. Going to really try to get the interview out tonight.
