You know, I avoided watching for sometime as for some reason I thought it was gonna be like Dungeons and Dragons in the role-playing game sense. God, I was so wrong, it's just epic. On the kind of scale of Tolkien.
Been downloading each episode off new season and it's just as good as the other two.

I will definitely have to check out the books, that no doubt contain more and more.
 
The books definitely contain more, but it's really nice to see it depicted on the screen. The plot follows pretty close to the books and the acting is superb. It's probably the best series I've ever seen or read in this genre. It doesn't shy away from the adult themes contained in the book or the raw graphical depictions of violence. To me, I try not to dwell on the fantasy aspect of the series, but more of a medieval depiction of kings vying for power and survival. Awesome show!
 
I'm a huge fan of this show, I've read all of the books and I'm starting in on reading them again. Last Sunday's episode was GoT at it's finest, watching Daenarys liberate Astapor and burn the Masters alive was awesome. I'm looking forward to the rest of this season's episodes, especially the last few which will be a huge surprise for those who have enjoyed the series but haven't read the books. From The Wire to Deadwood to Rome to The Sopranos, HBO makes some truly amazing shows, but I think they've outdone themselves when it comes to this series, it's just so well done.
