Gary is a retired detective Constable who served in the British Transport police between 1989-2013. In 1975, he experienced a bright, white light that triggered a series of power grid failures. This sparked a lifelong interest in UFOs that spanned through his career as a police detective.

He began the Police Report UFO Sightings (PRUFOS) database in 2002 starting with a half dozen police reports involving approximately 10 police officers. Now after 11 years of research he has collected over 400 reports dating back to 1901 involving over 900 police officers. The database is divided into two separate categories - on and off duty police sightings. The sighting reports are derived from a number of sources, from officers themselves who contact him directly, to historical newspaper archive reports to official information reports released by the Ministry of Defence.

He has appeared in numerous TV shows and conferences sharing the many accounts he has compiled in the largest database of law enforcement sightings ever compiled. I've been a fan and a follower of his work for years and finally had the pleasure of meeting him at the Citizen's Hearing on Disclosure where he was a testifying witness at the event. This will be his first appearance on The Paracast and a show not to miss!

This is your chance to quiz a true pioneer of UFO research. Please post your questions here…

What's the one case that you feel should have already ended the debate on the reality of UFOs as alien visitors to this planet? Keep in mind, I don't think UFOs are alien in nature.

Did you ever meet or talk with Pier Zanfretta ? If so, do you have any comment on his story and the validity of it?

In your experience, how does the attitude toward UFOs in the British police establishment differ from its American counter-part, if at all? Thanks.

Question: As a trained detective, in your experience, what percentage of reports have turned out to be proven to your satisfaction to have been hoaxes, and can you please give us an example of such a hoax, and what to look for during an investigation ( besides the obvious model hanging from the ceiling ) that would give away a hoax?

Hello, I'm Dietmar from Germany. Thank you for coming to the paracast and for your outstanding work.

What do you think is the number of police UFO reports, which are genuinely unexplainable, that never become public in relation to those that do?

What are the reasons police officers give when relating their stories, why they don't remain silent about them? They must know what it does to their reputation, social standing etc.?

Do you know of any accounts from police officers in Germany? We hear about next to no official police reports of unexplained UFOs .

Do you think the light object you saw might have been a natural phenomenon (i.e. not intelligently controlled), like ball lightning?

Have you ever considered looking into other alleged unexplained phenomena investigated by the police, like hauntings?

What do you think about the affidavit of a female police officer in the Enfield poltergeist case?

I don't really have a question, but hearing "dating back to 1901" is intriguing for sure. I'd love to hear about some of the really old, lesser known cases.

Question for everyone:

I've always been interested in the paranormal, but for the last 10 years or so it's only been a passive interest. At this point in my life I find myself with a lot of free time and a need for a hobby so I'd like to turn this passive interest into an active one. So my general question to Gene, Chris and Gary is, since you are so knowledgeable and well-versed on the field, where is the best place to start? I'm looking for 'entry level' material in the form of books/documentaries/websites/cases etc. etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi Gary

Please could you let us know your conclusions on the 1980 Sigmund Adamski - Todmorden case? Is it true that PC Alan Godfrey who found Adamski was told not to talk about it and had to sign an official secrets act? Although not technically a human mutilation, this case must be rare for the UK, is it?

From what I understand later in his career, PC Godfrey ran into a landed UFO and had a missing time episode whilst on duty (whilst on the same night 6 separate officers in nearby forces also witnessed a UFO). Both cases were in the North of England. My final question is:
Have you seen a pattern emerging in PRUFOS data, that would suggest certain 'hot spots' around the British Isles, if so where?

Thank you.

Gary, do you have much interaction with witnesses from other nearby nations?

In your experience, how does the attitude in the U.K. compare to that of other European countries regarding UFO's, contact, and disclosure?

In your experience of sightings that involve both police and civilian witnesses how often do reports match and how often is there a disparity between what the witness saw vs. the police officer. And if there is a high degree of disparity between these sets of witnesses how do you account for that?

Do cases involving close proximity between the officer and UFO and/or being produce more distorted, bizarre reports with time lapses, strange sounds and/or more disjoiinted narratives compared to the more distant witnessing of an object in the sky? If proximity is a factor in producing reports of high strangeness what do you think is going on and causing these events. Could these ever be the result of hallucinations in your opinion?
