Thanks. Yeah, it took me awhile to come up with 10. I think I should change it to top 5. I vaguely recall hearing about Dr. X. I need to look that one up.

Can't find anything good online ... I'll keep a look out. It's only a couple of pages in the book, but it's always fascinated me.

Can you give me a very brief synopsis of what the Dr. X case was about?

Basically, a French Doctor saw a Ufo one night that split in two and hit him with a beam. He developed a triangular rash on his abdomen, as did his one year old child. This would come and go over a long time period. I think there were other odd occurances. An old war wound of his was cured also. A very interesting part of the case is that the man, who was before this took place a man of science not bothered with questions of a spiritual nature, took a Uturn, and became very spiritual, practicing meditation and stuff like that. Now, I may have got some details wrong about it.

Im new too this but
my top 3 that are lesser known to the general public...
Rendelsham
Japan Airlines over alaska!(would love to hear a show based on this)
and Corona!

Ted Phillip's Moonshaft
Stephen Michalak Encounter
Khoury DNA
Cash Landrum
Bob White

They aren't in any particular order. Apparently there is a rancher who snapped some pictures of alien astronauts in the 60's (I believe). I can't even remember where I saw this and if it was ever determined to be a hoax or not, so I didn't include this in my list. My favorite fictional encounter is "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (the original one). :)

I remember the cure of a landmine and ax injury but not the rash, offhand.

In no particular order, with the exception of the RB47 case, which should be #1 on any list:

- RB47 case, southern US, 1957
- Minot AFB, North Dakota, 1968
- Malmstrom AFB, Montana, 1967
- Kelly Johnson & aircrew sighting, California, 1953
- Rendlesham forest, UK, 1980
- Tehran jet fighter, Iran, 1976
- Shag Harbour, Nova Scotia, 1967
- Michalak close encounter, Manitoba, 1967
- Belgian "wave", 1989-1990
- RAF Lakenheath / Bentwaters, UK, 1956

Great cases but IMO Colares, Cash-Landrum and Roswell top them.

1) Delphos Kansas
2) Bentwaters AFB
3) Shag Harbor
4) Malmsrom AFB
5) Tehran fighter incident or 1976
6) Japan Flight 1628
7) Westall Australia, circa 1966
8) O'Hare Airport Sighting
9) Socorro New Mexico
10) Flatwoods

I'd agree with the majority of the cases already posted here, though to me one of the most compelling cases ever was Bob Taylor's encounter in Livingston, Scotland in 1979 for a number of reasons- the witness seems credible, there's a number of witnesses to how traumatised he was and there's some physical evidence in his ripped trousers, the tears seemingly have been caused by something lifting upwards as well as some odd markings on the ground. I think there may have also seen some independetly reported UFO sightings in the general area before it occurred.
Not sure how well known this case is outside the UK (I live in Edinburgh, which is close to the site of this, and it's still often brought up in the local media), but if you're not familiar with the case, then the following video is worth watching: https://www.theparacast.com/forum/west-lothian-ufo-encounter-t5783.html

The last is interesting, and involved more than one witness. But I'd hardly consider it a classic since the sighting was brief and physical evidence limited at best.

I've heard of it and agree it is a good one, probably better than many of those which are better known. Sometimes good cases are relatively obscure.

These are the top ten that intrigue me. I mention flatwoods because it is so unique. To my knowledge there is no other sighting like it. Yet the witness testimony is very compelling. There are radar tracks and a boat load of other evidence, circumstantial though it may be. You can read more about it in Frank Feschino's book, "Shoot Them Down!". It is not the easiest read but it does have a bunch of data. I debated on putting the Stephenville case as number 10 as well. It could easily switch places with any of the last 3.
