While that's of enormous significance for the issue of finding non-terrestrial life (more specifically the chances of finding such life in our own solar system), the kind of life they're expecting to find in such places wouldn't get much beyond extremophile pond scum.
If you want to find advanced multi-cellular life that creates civilisations and that you might actually be able to talk to, the requirements are a little more stringent (having your world not be an eternal giant snowball is probably a good start).
