Reasons why the government will never voluntarily admit they know UFO's are real.

FEAR- the general public would be scared more than they were by 911. They believe the military can keep them safe from terrorist states and groups., They believe their country is the strongest military force in the world, BUT, how would they feel when they find out the military and police are totally powerless against these invaders?

The news would be 24/7 interviewing abduction researchers and unlimited lines of crying mothers demanding someone, anyone save their children and loved ones from the aliens. Law suits would be filed by the thousands, class actions against cities, police forces and the military. Politicians would start looking for scape goats in the FBI, CIA and military -demanding resignations and action so they can cover their asses and boast their power..
Lawyers would advertise on TV.. (have you seen anything unusual in the sky, think you may have missing time, nightmares, wake up frozen with fear.... well you are entitled to government benefits and money for pain and suffering. Call 800 ___ ____, and get restitution for the terror and medical problems that you have suffered because of the governments 60 years of lies and in action. )

People would flood Social security offices demanding benefits as they can no longer work with their PTSD and associated depression caused by abductions. Medicare would be forced to pay for therapy for hundreds of thousands who believe they have been abducted. Private long term disability insurance companies would go bankrupt as every nut files claims.

Oil and utility stocks would crash as the public starts believing there maybe unlimited power sources being hidden by the military, which has broken laws against US citizens in their fifty or sixty year cover up. (and you know who would be preaching that BS on TV). No one would believe their continued denials. Consumer spending would plummet after the initial stockpile of guns and food.

Schools would close when scared parents find out that their children are in class with someone who is being abducted or when children think they see something above the playground. Wacko's would leave work when they think they saw flashing lights or some thing in the sky over their work place.

People would start discriminating against having possible abductees in apartment or condo buildings. They just would not want people near them that bring the aliens around. Frantic people just wouldn't want aliens coming so close to their loved ones or to their work place. Just imagine finding out the nursery teacher of your loved one might be an abductee and the aliens might abduct them right next to your baby at any time. Would people be afraid to fly with a pilot who is an abductee? Maybe the airlines would put that pilot into a desk job, just in case? A bus driver? Your dentist? Your children's teacher? What about your surgeon? Would you want to trust your life to someone who could be abducted while they are doing surgery on you?

I believe there would also be vigilantes' jumping into their pickups , armed to the teeth running and shooting at usual lights in the country or to areas where people report UFO sightings. I think there would be a lot of lights in the sky shot at so If I had a small airplane I don't think I would plan flights at night. Damn, I don't think I would run my tractor in the farm fields after sunset as city nuts could start shooting.

Sighting reports would now be broadcast on radio and local TV shows as the media just loves to milk panic and fear (remember the 911 pictures over and over for months or all the B.S about this new swine flu) .

Oprah would be selling books on the subject and Dr. Phil would be helping contactees/abductees. Crazy cults like Billy Meier and hundreds of new age wackos would choke the airways now that the flood gates to reality are broken. Do you remember the Moonies at the airport collecting money, well they would be replaced by Meierees.

There would be info commercials selling dubious gadgets that could protect you or set off alarms when aliens are near. Police departments would be flooded with sightings of lights or strange occurances. Hospitals, clinics and doctors offices would be lined up with people demanding MRIs to check for implants (just in case) so people can feel safe. <O:p</O:p

Wait a minute. I have wonderfully generous long term disability coverage at work? Damn, I could retire early and collect my salary from the beach.
 
I have always wondered about Goverment disclosure. Like how does the Goverment, know this Entitys are now going to show up one day and reveal themselves to the mainstream public.If you keep in denial to the public always but, on the other hand you know we are being visited by entitys from somewhere. Are you running the risk of looking stupid at the end.

Just imagine how that would play out. For Arguments sake ... say Obama knew and was told of ufos. Would he not be shitting himself ? This entitys could show up at any time and make the case for ufos an undeniable fact. Unless someone somewhere believes this will not happen ever.

So if you are sure, this ufos will never show up in a unquestionable way. Then the goverment can keep the secret. The ufos hold the key not the goverment. The goverment is never going to reveal anything unless there hand is forced towards disclosure.
 
Why is Government disclosure even relevant? I think it's a little redundant in this day and age with the possibility of independent sources of information. Think about all the amateur astronomers who spend their time gazing at the stars and the private aircraft pilots who could potentially report sightings.

If an alien civilisation did come to earth then how do we know they'd go straight to the government officials? How do we even know if they understand politics and the hierarchy of power?

How do we know if our governments even know anything? We demand disclosure, but what if there's nothing to disclose?

You know....this is actually sort of a fascinating post! I mean...I never really thought of the effects of Disclosure so detailedly as you've gone into. It really....helps me understand: well...some of the exact mechanisms of how chaos would be displayed in today's society. Ridiculous or not...thank you for this!
 
Well, that's quite an imaginative bit of speculation there. Perhaps that WOULD happen--or not. Perhaps the Rand Corporation has done numerous double blind studied with a 99% confidence level that show this would all happen--or not.

Or, as long as we are in this mode, perhaps most everyone would simply go about their lives as they always have, feeding their families, paying their mortgages, and hoping to hell all this woo-woo stuff about aliens won't affect the price of oil beyond their ability to pay.

Aside from the fact i think it is laughable that the "government" would hide such information due to the general public being scared i also think that "governments" are governed and are a constructed mask so there could never really be any such thing as "government disclosure".

But seriously, if it were disclosed who is gonna run around kicking and screaming? Tomorrow you could get an incurable cancer, or maybe get abducted by aliens we know to be true and live on, whats the scarier situation? People would get over it...

This is a 1968 Rand Corporation report, commissioned by "the government" analyzing what might happen if the populace learned about an alien presence. It's title is "UFO's: What to do?" and probably commissioned by the USAF. One of the interesting issues is that both Rand and the Air Force denied such a report existed. It pretty well proves your contention false.
 
Well if we are honest. I think with all the storys about ufos from Area 51 to Roswell. We speculate on Goverment Disclosure due to the storys that have been told . They seem to suggest they have something or they no more than the average joe.

Do they have flying disc's and bodies? We have some evidence that they do? But, over the years individuals have come out of the woodwork with incredible storys and have been proven to be charaltans and frauds. Jesse marcel jr is the best witness. I have heard.

Is the Roswell case a fraud. Not if you believe Jesse Marcel. I was not there to verify his story. I just think the man is geniune?

I Know something exists which is outside our understanding. So some of the storys in ufo history verify may own understanding. Limited in many ways, seeing something in the sky does not reveal a hell of alot.

What am i seeing here and where did that come from?

What are the intentions of this visitors. That is the million dollar question everyone would love to have answered

then I would suggest it is his contention that is laughable. Government would, whether it is a real government, a 'governed' government (whatever THAT is), a shadow government, or a government within a government, it is perfectly reasonable to expect 'them' to engage in such behavior.

It is also perfectly reasonable for them to study the issue so they would know whether the populace would be frightened and over-react. It's not enough to conjecture that maybe everyone would think 'Wow! COOL!' Maybe not. That's simplistic conjecture. That's why you hire corporations like RAND to actually study the issue, apply the statistical method, and actually have some substantive conclusions to present. Since we have one such report in hand (above) it's not a matter of claiming they wouldn't because they did and we have it in hand. As far as that contention is concerned: Case closed.

Sure i think the government would hide such information. But, not for the the pure and simple reason that they think it would scare people and have their oh so good willed hearts at best intentions in hiding this frightening information from us.

So i asked like 2 dozen people about this today. People who couldn't care less for aliens and paranormal. Their response was, in fact, just that "couldn't care less". Where's all these wussies hiding?
