May I please go back to the zoo now?
<style></style>Stacy Horn has an interesting book out, about the parapsychology work of J.B. Rhine and company at Duke University, during the thirties, forties and fifties. We old timers have seen quite a few references to Rhine's work over the years, but never a full treatment like Horn's book, Unbelievable. She has some very interesting things to say about the way the program was run, who was involved, and the problems the scientists had trying to win acceptance of their work. Some of it will sound very familiar to any serious student of ufology, to the point that it seems like the whole episode may have served as a template for the efforts of the military-industrial complex to prevent open scientific study of the UFO phenomenon a decade or two later. I haven't gotten around to getting my hands on a copy of the book, but I've read quite a bit of Horn's blog writing, and I'm looking forward to reading Unbelievable. She mentions somewhere that she did Coast to Coast, so it seems there is a good chance she would do the Paracast. The Paracast is a bit like Coast to Coast, except it's good. I think she would do well on the show, and Gene and David would surely ask some questions she would like to answer. Here is her main blog.

The next blog is focused on the book, but also has some very interesting stories and other bits that didn't get into the book for one reason or another.

This is from NPR, I think.

Here is a longer talk, given at an event at Duke when her book came out. The audio ranges from acceptible all the way to horrid, so be warned. Still, it's very much worth the pain to hear what she has to say. There was a bit about Richard Nixon that must be pursued if she is ever on the show, it's that intriguing!

Seems kind of silly to even think I need to post this, but I don't think Stacy is related in any way to Dingbat Michael Horn of Billy Meier infamy. I think Stacy would be a very good guest, and there is far more to the paranormal than just UFO experiences. If someone needs a UFO tie in to make this interesting, then Rhine's research has a lot to do with the kind of communication so many experiencers report. Rhine and his associates were bona fide, real scientists. So I'll bump this back up top and give it another shot.

I'd never heard of her and that's the first thing that came into my mind, but then I remembered that no woman in her right mind would marry that thing.
