Somebody else may be able to find the song I'm thinking of. I'm at work so I can't youtube it right now. But, it's an old one. I think it's called "I want my baby back." The singer goes from the car crash to the crypt and you can hear him opening the coffin at the end. Then of course he sings "I got my baby back." :-) Anybody old enough to remember or who can find it on youtube it's worth a listen especially this time of year.

The band Fantomas put out a record called "The Director's Cut" that is a collection of covers from great horror movies. They do the theme from the Omen, Rosemary's Baby, night of the hunter... etc etc. pretty creepy for a Halloween soundtrack. check it out.

I can't load the video from work and I forgot about this thread last night. But, since it's Halloween time I thought I'd at least post some information and the lyrics. It's an old one but a goody. So, for Halloween here are some "fun facts" about "I want my Baby Back." :-)

It's by "Jimmy Cross" who I honestly don't know or remember. I do remember the song.
This song was originally released in 1965. It was re-released, unofficially, in 1978, after being voted the worst record of all time on Capital Radio's The World's Worst Wireless Show, the brainchild of zany DJ Kenny Everett.

The song is a parody of the well known teen ballad "Leader Of The Pack." It is about a youth whose girlfriend is killed in a motor accident. At the end, he opens the coffin lid and climbs in with her. (thanks, Alexander Baron - London, England, for above 2)

Gotta have my baby back
I miss her oh, so much
Cain't live without her touch

[wind, digging sounds]
I don't hardly know where to begin.
I remember, we were cruisin' home from the Beatles concert.
I'd had such a wonderful evenin' sittin' there watchin' my baby
screamin' and tearin' her hair out and carryin' on.
She was sooo full of life.
Then...

Well, we were about three miles from home when all of a sudden
it started to rain.
[thunder, rain]
And I do mean rain - I couldn't hardly see nuthin'!
Well, we kept drivin' for about another mile when all of a sudden
I see this stalled car right smack in front of me!
Well, I wa'nt about to slam on the brakes 'cause I didn't have
none to start to with.
So I swerved to the left, and what do I see?
Some mush-head, on a motorsickle, headin' right at us!
And I knew at last, me and my baby were about to meet
the leader of the...

[long crash] Wooooo-haaaaaa!

...pack.

Well, when I come to I looked around,
and there was the leader,
and there was the pack,

And over there was myyy baby.

And over there was my baby.

And waaay over there was my baby!

I want my baby back
Gotta have my baby back
I miss her oh, so much
Cain't live without her touch

[wind, digging]
It's been many months now since that fateful night,
and you know somethin', I've tried, believe me I have tried -
but I just cain't make it without my baby.
So, I've decided I'm gonna have back her one way or another.

Oh baby, I diiig you so much. A-heh-heh!
[thud] Hot dang - pay dirt!

[creaky door opening, shuffling, creaky door closing]

[Muffled:]
I got my baby back
Now I got my baby back
I love her oh, so much
Cain't live without her touch
I got my baby back... (gregzsidisin)</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

My number one Halloween tune of all time is Roky Erickson's (13th Floor Elevators) 'Night of the Vampire.' I can't find a copy as good as the album, but this live one is close...
