Yeahhhhhh, she LOOKS like the ---typical--- paranormal-investigator-expert etcetera, THATS FOR SURE. (Just ask Jason and Grant!) (There is a certain appearance and gender preference, apparently ---required--- for that kind of 'work'.)

I hope I'm wrong, but that sounds pretty judgmental to me. Surely a person can be good looking (as Holly obviously is) and also investigate the paranormal?

I chose Holly to co-host Ghost Cases not because of her looks, but because of her intellect (which includes a degree in biology), her interest in the subject, and because she is my friend and we work well together.

By the way, for anyone unfamiliar with Holly, she and I appeared on the Paracast last year to discuss ghost investigation. https://www.theparacast.com/podcast/april-19-2009-paul-kimball-and-holly-stevens/

She's certainly very photogenic ... and apparently has no problem hanging out with old men. Is she an actress as well?? She has that certain look about her??

I'm not that old! ;)

Yes, she's an actress, and a good one. She also works behind the camera as a very thorough production manager and script consultant. A woman of many talents!

Sorry ... should have said "older" ... hehe. I saw the pic of her with I guess some elderly Scottish men (??) and thought ... we'll they'll be happy ... or something :D. Or maybe she was drunk??? Anyway ... as you say a talented woman ... apparently :D

Those guys were cycling from England to Inverness - we met them on an overnight stop in Crianlarich, and had a few beers with them. As Canadians, Holly and I are required by law to be friendly and charming whilst in foreign countries. :)

Mad people ... cycling should be banished. Although now saying that ... they do make us walkers look cool ... so ... yeah ... cycling rules ... or something.

Oh and they probably thought you were Americans anyway ... so they were probably rather shocked to find that you weren't brash and loud ... and all ... Americany :D ... and so they had to be nice to you ... or something.

Yep ... rambling on again ... hope you had a nice time anyway :D

I love America, and Americans... but almost as soon as I meet someone abroad, I proudly identify myself as a Canadian. :)

Strange that. I was in Iran for a wee while ... on a overland travelling holiday thing in 1996 ... big old truck ... 20-odd of us ... and I was British/English ... until the Iranians (who were lovely people by the way :)) started pestering us to help them with their English practice. Which was ok for the first couple of times but got rather annoying quite quickly. I soon got out the few phrases of Welsh I learnt in Grammar School (I'm English by birth, parents are Welsh) when I lived in Wales in the early 80s.

I soon threw out a few choice phrases in this alien language at them ... things like, "I am washing the cheese", "I am washing the cheese in the house", "I am reading the cheese in the kitchen" ... you get the general idea. No more hassles.

Thank you Milford Haven Grammar School ... I knew my education there would help me out in some way, one day :D.

Sadly, there's often an attitude in our society - a very disappointing and somewhat archaic one - that women can either have looks or brains, but not both together. It's nice to see women like Holly proving the fallacy of such an attitude.
