Happy new year one and all!!!!!

So today I will pertake my 4th annual New Year's Day walk along the Marvin Braude bike path along the beach. Some 22 miles in distance from Torrance to Pacific Palisades. Although I'll pretty much restrict my listening to crashing waves, shorebirds and the whine of jet engines as I walk underneath departing lax flights I also loaded up the previous two paracast podcasts before the season finale with Don Ecker, but given the content of the discussion in the forum it sounds like I didnt miss much :)

Just finished cooking some authentic stir fry rice for my in-laws and getting ready to toast the new year with them and some sparkling pomegranate juice. I am looking forward to getting out the chainsaw with my neighbour, Diedrich Knickerbocker, today to hack up some tree that toppled my fence during our recent ice storm. Other tree could also be involved following this if I get lead out to the secret pasture later. Wishing more to find myself in the bar in the woods later tonight with Hendrick Hudson and his crew for a game of nine-pin.

Happy New Year to all! May all your resolutions be possible, and let the magic flow from now until the horizon's end!

No, I was just being a drama queen, I'm wimping out and walking it out. I have been doing this on Jan. 1 for past few years. Before then I was doing a regular hike. This bike path runs along the beach for 22 miles from Torrance to Santa Monica except for 2 inland jags, one at Redondo Beach Marina andtbe other where these photos were taken, the main channel going into the Marina Del Rey
