As we transition to new staff and a newly-invigorated radio show, it has come to my attention that some of our present and former forum members feel they may have been treated unfairly. This is particularly true of the several dozen members who were banned over the years.
Now I realize there are lots of frayed nerves and certainly ill-will on both sides of the issue. But in the interests of mending fences and moving forward, here's my special request:
If you feel you've been wronged by The Paracast or our forums, please send me a Private Message right away and I'll look into the situation, or have one of our new moderators examine the matter. If you have links to messages that you feel defamed you, let me know. With over 84,000 messages and limits to what we can search efficiently, it's not possible to read each and every statement as it is posted.
We do, though, have a Terms of Service that expresses our forum standards. While we've been apt to let explicit language slide, we will observe the other requirements more vigorously than ever. However, being defamed is very different from legitimate or not-so-legitimate disagreement. We want to continue to allow the free expression of ideas, even of some of those ideas are over the top.
Please also continue to report posts that you consider to be spam, or otherwise unacceptable. Thanks always for being a part of our forum community.
