You guys (Gene & David) might just have to have another guest on like "He who shall not be named" simply to stir up the pot and get some posting in here. It's really quieted down ever since that particular thread cooled off. :)

HWSNBN may have been absolutely bunk, but it certainly made the forum lively!

"Think Different" (inside joke for Mac guys)

If "HWSNBN" would return, then you would have an identical repeat of what happend before. Mr *cough* doesn't change his views, not when it comes to the *cough* material. You'd have better luck teaching a bear to take a dump on the toilet.

The only positive effect HWSNBN had was on this board, which became highly charged to say the least! It doesn't seem like any of the other guests are eliciting such a response. (Maybe that's why Coast to Coast has so many of the snakeoil-types [Dames, Morton, et al.] on so often?)

This past weeks show, to me at least, was the worst episode yet. Totally boring. I also think giving Robert Collins that dialogue at the end of the show was weird. Is this going to happen every time someone disagrees with the host's opinion? RMC had plenty of time and a place to express his views regarding DB's comments at the end of this show, namely this forum. It was unnecessary to provide him with an additional soapbox on which to stand. I hope Gene and David don't repeat this... >:(

In this case, Captain Collins asked us several times for an opportunity to respond to David's comments. Since we have set up a system to have reader comments played on the show, we decided to give him the opportunity.

Sorry that you didn't find the story of Skinwalker Ranch from George Knapp or Loren Coleman's information about cryptozoology to be compelling. We'll try to do better next time.

It's just my opinion... Cryptozoology isn't my thing & Loren Coleman is on so many shows that I feel like I've heard it all before. The Skinwalker thing makes for a compelling narrative, but it seems beyond belief that anyone is expected to believe any of it to be true without any hard evidence whatsoever (which is odd since it was seemingly so abundant).

Regarding the Robert Collins end-of-show editorial... I think it was a mistake simply because this forum provides him plenty of room to voice his views. I thought it was extremely refreshing for David Biedny to offer an honest, unvarnished opinion regarding the guest's book. I know of no other radio show or podcast in this genre where the hosts are actually honest in regards to the guest's (often crappy, tedious, or both) books, or the questions asked so pointed and compelling. I trust the Paracast will keep this edge intact despite this obvious back-step to RMC's perceived snub.

David,

We had no problem giving Collins an opportunity to express his "issue" with my comments, I would agree that he could have made much more effective use of these forums to express his views. I stand by my comments - it's actually sad that many folks with valid information and insights get knocked down by poor writing and weak editing. I just finished reading Don Berliner and Stan Friedman's "Crash at Corona", and I have to say, it's such a pleasure spending time with a book written by talented, clear and concise authors.

We're trying to encourage our listeners to send comments to us using audio recordings instead of email, and as it turns out, Robert Collins actually took advantage of the offer. I encourage all our listeners to send MP3 files of their comments, we'll be happy to air them.

The Paracast is all about a range of paranormal topics, and we're striving to widen the scope of the show. It's impossible to please everyone all the time, and while you might not be interested in the thoughts of Loren Coleman, there are certainly those who find cryptozoology to be a totally fascinating area. Hopefully, you'll continue to find value and insights in the show, regardless of the covered topics. Thanks so much for the feedback, its what we hope helps make the show more than most of what's out there.

I have no doubt that the Paracast will continue to be my favorite podcast despite the occasional (in my opinion) lackluster guest. Truth be told, it's not necessarily what your guests bring to the discussion, but rather, you and Gene. You guys have many of the same guests who appear ad infinitum on other paranormal-type shows; however, the questions you guys ask and credibility you bring by maintaining a degree of skepticism are well appreciated and definitely missing from ALL the other shows.

There is another podcast that will remain anonymous, where the host was praising the book of one of his guests on the air, but in an e-mail with me told me the book basically sucked. Makes me kind of suspect on anything he said from that point forward.

Getting back to the main subject of this post... I think for most people it takes time to progress from listening to the show to then come on the forum. I listened to about five episodes before I thought to check out these boards. I think these boards will become more active as time goes on.

Regarding the last show, I thought the events of skinwalker ranch were just too unbelievable - there were too many "facts" thrown out at us at once. I'd agree that it would make a good movie lol.

I liked the interview with Loren Coleman. I still don't know much about cryptozoology, but I think there are some aspects that might be somewhat credible. Plus, it is very interesting to think that these amazing creatures exist.

Gene - You seem to take things personal when someone is negative about the show.

I cried about some terrible commercials and someone else didn't like last weeks show and you replay with an attitude.

First of all we love your show. Always remember that. You and David are two very credible hosts that will hold someones feet to the fire when needed and always let the guest have there say.

We value your opinions and you appear to value ours. Please don't take this stuff personal. I know the paracast is your baby and it will grow into something big. (Not to damn big !!!)

Actually, I didn't. I simply said I was sorry the show didn't appeal to you, as you'll recall from the actual message. As to the terrible commercials, I think you mentioned just one, and I said you could just speed past it if you didn't like it.

LOL okay Pixelsmith, doesn't your starchild need picked up from soccer practice?

First of all TheParacast is the hightlight of the week for me. I enjoy it that much. I look forward to it as much as I look forward to Battlestar Gallactica on SciFi.

These are forums for the show and I am just being a little wild and wooly ;)

Guys, my 2 cents...

Please don't assume that everyone has heard it all before, or has heard so and so on so many shows etc...

Even with an interest in things paranormal and UFO's ever since I was a teen, it is only with the recent listening of this podcast that I'm being acquainted with all manner of material and personalities I had no clue about. Until this show I had never heard of Stanton Friedman!!! So I guess that the sign to me I'm a total n00b at this stuff. :D

So Gene/David, thank you for all the material you have had on so far. Even the hollow Earth stuff, that I feel stretches believability, at least has my mind questioning my perceptions of reality and considering possibilties.

This show is such a refreshing breath of air for this 40 year old mind. ;)

compelling?

Sorry that you didn't find the story of Skinwalker Ranch from George Knapp or Loren Coleman's information about cryptozoology to be compelling. We'll try to do better next time.
Hm. Space, time, mass, and energy are reported to be quantized. One implication of that situation is that this universe is a virtual reality (VR). One implication of this universe being a VR is that it exists only in the imagination of its originator. Our awareness of this situation is increasing, especially those of us who listen to you, to Rense, to C2C, etc. So when we see things like a skinwalker, or something from cryptozoology, or a UFO, or a ghost, or a crop circle, or whatever else, we are increasingly inclined to realize that it is either a hoax or an intervention by an originator. If it's a hoax, then it's moot. If it's an intervention by an originator, then it's moot, unless it's an intervention by the originator of all originators. That's a horse of another color altogether. Interventions by that originator are not to be dismissed whatsoever. So if you want "to do better next time", then consider figuring out how we can sort out who the originator of a particular intervention is.
