Hello from the UK

Free episodes:

Aqualung

Skilled Investigator
I've been listening to the Paracast weekly for a few years and thought it about time that I joined the forum, said hello and showed my support.
A bit of info about me; I'm a former University senior lecturer and I'm currently a writer and illustrator. I used to be a member of a ghost investigation group here in the UK. I've got lots of experience of the paranormal but I've never seen a 'Flying Saucer' or an alien (although I've witnessed some things that could fit the cryptid bracket).
My fascination with the UFO phenomenon probably began with My Grandmother giving me a copy of a book called The Univited when I was a child. I cant for the life of me remember who wrote this book but from what I remember it seemed like a strange account of Contactee/ Abduction/ hauntings that took place in Wales in the 1970's (If anyone has any other information on this case I'd be fascinated to return to it. It certainly doesnt seem to be a case that I've heard anyone mention on any podcasts).
I think Close Encounters of The Third Kind had a huge effect on me as a child too. Many years later I discovered Von Daninken, read 'Communion' and books by Timothy Good and then began collecting as much material as I could on the subject in the early 1990's. I used to read the UK UFO Magazine and The Fortean Times regularly too. I still subscribe to The Fortean Times.
I wrote my Batchelors degree thesis on the Roswell Autopsy Film Footage in 1996. During my research I had a very odd occurrence that led me to stop taking my interest in the UFO phenomenon any further for many years. I'm more than happy to discuss it here if anyones interested.
My interest in this field picked up again a few years back due to trawling itunes for podcasts, which is how I discovered The Paracast. I've listened to several others too but I always find the rationality of The Paracast to be much more along the lines of my own thoughts on the subject. Consequently I've discovered several books from the show. When I think about it alll the last books I've read have come off the back of the Paracast. I'm currently reading books by Nick Redfern.
Anyway here I am, I just thought I'd say hello and I look forward to the forum.
Best wishes
John
