The point in the second one about creating a fantasy scenario to deal with death is spot on.
People for some reason have an aversion to being honest, and saying "i dont know" when they dont know.
So religions are were the gap filler, how did the universe get here........ when these books were written the honest answer was " i dont know", but rather than admit ignorance they say "god did it"
How did man and all the animals get here..... god did it
What happens when we die....... god takes you to heaven.
Talking to the god squad, is like listening to a group of 4 year olds describe santa, and where he lives and his reindeer and magic ability to squeeze his fat arse down an 8 inch wide chimney......
Children can be forgiven for this mindset, They have been brainwashed to believe its true, and are not yet mentally proficient enough to recognise the logical fallacy in the narrative.

That is indeed the kind of faith that should be criticised, wether that is faith that billy meiers photos are genuine or that god is real, or that santa knows if your naughty or nice.
Humanitys mental integrity should be better than blind faith, it should be able to spot bad evidence, programming ourselves not to do this, brainwashing the next generation into choosing blind faith over the evidence is bad for the individual, and bad for the species
