I don't see the problem, in the foreseeable future anyway, as one of "Humans Need Not Apply" but rather along the lines of "Less Than Gifted Humans Need Not Apply". Perhaps what we are seeing is the ever ruthless process of evolution attempting to create a world that favors the survival of those fluent in certain types of abstract thinking as opposed to "Joe Sixpack". This may even be a factor in ever widening income gaps in developed nations and the demise of our middle class.

I don't like this notion and I hope it is wrong. It rubs our sense of humanity the wrong way.

Then again it may well be a Bot that answers the question are we alone.

The one on Mars springs to mind, if this trend continues its not unlikely it will be a Bot that makes first contact on our behalf

My industry may be getting more automated but the day a bot comes in fly's a PA system sorts out all the random shit that can go wrong and mix the damn show I will be impressed myself.
