what whould it matter if one believed in one real, soild ufo case(pick one) or all af them? ufos(non-human life) are real and we are being an have been visited , so what does it matter? its like fighting(yelling) over witch car to drive, 2 door or 4, its still a car. can we not get pass the infighting?
all it takes is one, there are hundreds of cases
or is it just me?

check out the attack or ignore thread...it's one thing to "believe" and another entirely to "prove". I can believe every case is real all day long. But if I don't have evidence (other than suspect or circumstantial) to back up my belief, then there is no scientific purpose served...it's all just theory.
As for the paracast community, I think you're viewing debate as infighting. In the paranormal community at large, there will always be those at loggerheads, b/c you always have some dogmatic person who KNOWS they're RIGHT! Sometimes the arguing can cause setbacks, but it's a part of life...you have to discover your own work-around for it.

I agree with Raevenskye.

Debate is really at a higher level here, but for the most part people are much more respectful of each other here than most other forums. I virtually stopped going to the ufo thread on ATS because of all the damn silliness and hucksterism. I've enjoyed the open-minded willingness, generally, or people on this board to entertain all sorts of thought experiments without being offended.

Every forum has a character, and, probably because of Gene and Dave, this one seems centered on nuts & bolts ufology. If your primary thing is conspiracy theories, ancient astronauts, ghosts, psychic development, free energy, or other subgroups of the paranormal, this forum would probably not be your first choice.

I like it here.

I think the problem with believing all ufo cases is that you would be wrong. But belief has a work around for being wrong and is inherent in the definition of belief. You can believe anything you want and hold it to be true. But that doesn't make it so.

The infighting is due to people wanting some semblance of real truth. Some types of evidence. Something tangible. Belief doesn't require any of this, yet we have these people preaching all sorts of garbage that they KNOW is true. It doesn't work for me although it may make things a hell of a lot easier. Ignorance can be bliss. And I don't mean to label you ignorant or anything else, just a response to your post.

I've basically echoed Ravenskye and Scott here so sorry for the redundancy. But I'm curious, if you know ufo's are real and that we have been visited, what is your basis for this?? Is there a particular case or do you believe them all??

I won't bicker about whether or not we should bicker:)

If you believed every case, you'd be delusional and irrational since some cases contradict others. If this doesn't bother you, be my guest, but it sure would me.
