So, I am curious about the work of Ilya Ivanovich Ivanov. Is it indeed possible to produce a human-ape hybrid? It seems as though almost every piece of information about Ivanov comes from the same source. When Ivanov is discussed, it is usually to say, "Oh, yeah...human-ape hybrid...isn't that a crazy idea?"
And yes, it is crazy, but...is it possible? Ivanov was hampered by a lack of sexually mature specimens, resistance from French colonial governments, the KKK, and of course, Stalin. Ivanov's goal of creating this hybrid could not have occurred, at least openly, at any other point in history. It was as though for this brief moment, this mad idea could almost be brought to fruition.
But again-is it possible? I just want to hear a qualified scientist say yes or no.
And who was the Russian woman, known only as G, who volunteered to be inseminated with chimp sperm? I see the potential for a musical in this story.
