'Immortal' jellyfish swarming across the world - Telegraph
My grandmother died of a combination of diabetes and cancer when I was a young child. For some reason all the adults whispered when they said the word 'cancer' around me. This, for some reason, made my young mind imagine that cancer was this jellyfish-like thing that would come in the night and suck blood from people. I can very clearly remember being 5 years old and hiding under the covers at night and placing my hands over the back of my neck so the cancer-jellyfish couldn't suck my blood.
