Infinity & The Big Bang

Infinity.., is that what we’re part of? Is the universe a subset of something else, which has been suggested? Such as a metaverse? Or is it just a fantasy that something has not a beginning or an end? Has the reality in which we exist played out repeatedly in the eyes of eternity?

If a human’s particular form of consciousness exists because of environmental, and biological factors, would there not be the possibility of that exact same form of consciousness existing, or having existed somewhere within infinity, or possibly within a meta reality? As it has been strongly suggested that even a giant black hole cannot destroy information, as information may have possibly been able to withstand what is known as the big bang. And could consciousness possibly be related to information? Or is it possible that the big bang is where human consciousness has extrapolated to it’s end, as suggested by Dr. Robert Lanza in his theory of Biocentrism.

At the bottom is “Big Picture Science” with Seth Shostak. In this episode entitled “ Before the Big Bang”, Dr. Shostak interviews Roger Penrose, Sean Carroll, Simon Steel, Andrei Linde, Jonathan Gottschall, and Marcus Chown. I think that you may be pleased to know that there’s only two short ads.

and how do animals consciousness play into this?
How would an animal’s consciousness possibly play into this? Well.., I guess one might be able to consider humans as sophisticated animals. Other than that, I have not a clue, as I’m not the author of these ideas.

of course we are animals... although i am not so sure we are all that sophisticated compared to the rest of the animals on this planet.

Regarding the Robert Lanza video: There are a few problems with claiming that space and time are simply "tools of our understanding", the first of which is that it implies a belief in Subjective Idealism, which is basically the idea that nothing really happens that is external to our subjective perceptions. Clearly there are some convincing logical arguments against that notion. But he goes on to make some really interesting points about the nature of reality based on modern experiments that demonstrate quantum entanglement on a scale larger than the quantum level.

On the Seth Shostak podcast: A really good presentation. Thanks for that. It would even be a good idea to have a mainstream science thread with more of that kind of thing. Perhaps some of the guests that these people have might also be suitable for the Paracast. The occasional futurist or pop-scientist might go over well with the audience.
