Xylo
Paranormal Adept
I was having lunch with my mom today and the subject turned to the past. I asked her if she ever remembered me talking about "the blue man" which was something I mentioned in a previous post. She said yes and then mentioned something which I didn't remember...apparently from a very, very early age (around 2 or 3yrs old) I would talk about a character whom I called "my man."
Now my family wrote this off as me having an imaginary friend. But the behavior persisted, as I was told, for a few years. The "my man" character eventually became "the blue man" and would visit me at night and tell me things. What kind of things I do not remember, I wish I did. As I grew up, my mother told me, the "my man" character used to make my parents quite angry-not by his actions but by my constant reference to him. What kind of references, she didn't say and possibly cannot remember.
This is the first time I've ever attempted to put any of these experiences "out there." I've hinted about it a little bit in other threads. As a child younger than 10, my mom used to catch me coming back into the house at 2 or 3 or 4 in the morning semi-regularly. I used to tell her, when confronted, that I was "taking out the trash" or something else chore-like. Apparently that worked and the family was convinced I was a sleepwalker.
The only nocturnal event that I actually remember was one in which I walked into the backyard and leaned backwards and was pulled up into the air. I was flying over the neighborhood and could see the rooftops of all the houses, the streetlights, and trees until they became so small that I could not see detail any more.
Here's my problem: Even though I have these memories, I don't think that these experiences really happened. At least I can't believe that they did. I put myself in the category of "experiencer" for these and other events in my life, but I don't know if that's where I really belong. The fact that my mother mentioned some of these things to me actually made me lose my appetite. I mean for me to have some corroborating testimony from a source that doesn't believe in the paranormal is huge to me and validates some of my memories. But I still don't know where that leaves me.
