I really want to go on a Bigfoot expedition but I'm not crazy about dropping 500 bucks or so to go.

Sounds like it could have possibly been a wild boar...and a racoon could easily open a foil wrapper and snag some biscuits, althought they do typically make a big mess. The tree branch was probably hurled by swamp-gas or a weather balloon.
