Interesting UFO case from China

Free episodes:

"Mushroom shaped UFO" ... the Gulf Breeze UFO was mushroom shaped right?

Kinda mushroom shaped.

Wasn't Ed Walters exposed as a hoaxer? I think something definitely happened at Gulf Breeze, but I've never been especially convinced by his pics/stories.

Back to the Chinese case - I'm currently doing some research into UFOs tracked on radar, which is how I ran across this case. I can't help wondering - how many anomalous objects are tracked this way, but we never get to hear about them? If one radar system tracks an object, it can be written off as a radar malfunction. But when several different radar stations pick up the same object, what then? Of course, showing up on radar doesn't make an anomalous object an alien spacecraft, but it's concrete evidence that SOMETHING was there. Hallucinations don't generate radar returns.

Of course, there's always radar spoofing. But that possibility disintegrates when an object is also seen visually, as well as on radar.

Nah as far as I know both Macabee and Ritzmann believe Ed Walters. Im sure some think he was hoaxing I guess, but there appears to be something going there.

from what i understand modern radars now have inbuilt "noise filters" that no longer pick up many UFO's.

I thought those filters just screened out objects that are not Doppler-shifted? I know very little about radar beyond the basics, so I could be wrong.

i think it was the Nick Pope episode of the Paracast but i could be wrong, where it was mentioned that some modern radars only report other planes now, things outside the "parameters" of normal craft are filtered out.

I'm not saying your wrong but that makes no sense at all. There is something on the radar, it's not a plane, or jet or balloon etc. , aww, forget it. Sounds like disinformation if it is true.

it may have been the philip mantle episode, as i recall heathrow was mentioned, i think the reference was to comercial aviation radar, now using IFF and geo positioning signals as well as radar signal before painting a blip, the premise being that radar does give false readings everynow and then and that these distractions had been filtered out, using this combo of signals on modern airline sets....

BTW, if anyone is interested in UFO radar cases, NICAP has a fairly big list of them, in a PDF file.

Not to take this off subject Siani, but what case have you found that is the most compelling so far??

This China case sure sounds interesting, but I'm unable to find anything else on it. No reports, no other stories or testimony, corroborating or otherwise. No investigation as far as I can tell from anyone. For all I know the story is made up. Surely there must be some reports somewhere, right??

And I'm not saying that the story is made up, just that, well... what else can you do here?? Interesting but nothing else. We hear all kinds of stories about things seen on radar, and when you go to look at the evidence, there is none.

I can't seem to find anything else on the China case, either :(.

Most compelling radar cases? The Belgian case of March 30th, 1990, and the Iranian Air Force case of September 1976, are two which immediately spring to mind. Both incidents were tracked on radar and simultaneously witnessed visually by multiple witnesses.
