Is there a current flap somewhere?

Curiously Confused
Is there a flap going on someplace or is all quiet in the UFO world? I am just curious. It has been over a year since I heard about a mass sighting or recurring sighting someplace. The closest thing I can remember is the California missile thing that wasn't a missile.

I read something online about mass sightings of UFO's over Sweden last month, but have not read anything since then. It is indeed very quiet up there in the skies, the last major UFO flap, was probably the events that occurred over Stephenville Texas-2008 our New York in October, still today people are still reporting and videoing unknown objects over the city of New York.

Yes, I have read of several reports out of China and even South Korea.....could be something is about to go down and they are checking up on the situation.

Or because China is on the ascendant it merits more attention. :)

Or with financial success comes the loss of totalitarian control and stories such as these begin to be reported. China is a nation about to outgrow its tolerance with its government methodologies. At least that is what I see when i gaze into my Nostradamus like crystal ball. :)

I wonder if the reported UFO sightings in China reflect the growing network of communication in the country? Maybe they're using the UFO story as a cover for new technology like the US has done.

China has a high literacy rate (90%+), but the average education ends at 11 compared to 16 in Western nations. This suggests a lower educated mass population that could be less able to differentiate aircraft/rockets/meteorological than those in the West. We aren't that good over here with our longer educations and greater access to internet sources...they must be way more likely to see 'UFO/aliens' now that the idea is spreading in China.

I understand your point but I'll have to disagree (at least in part). Most people in Western countries (even those with higher education) have a faint knowledge of meteorology and astronomy. They may be able to recognize aircrafts more easily, but the night sky brings a new set of identification problems that most people are unable to deal with.

Not to mention that vast areas of China are still sparsely lit. Those same folks would be more used to seeing astronomical stuff than the city dwellers or even the rural folks in the West.

They might see more things and then lack the terminology to explain or describe them? Who knows...

It's possibly anyone's guess how they'd respond. On the one hand the populace are less educated...on the other, they're less exposed to the idea of UFOs as many in the West and maybe more accurate in description? Does this make them better or worse observers? Personally, I don't know and would suggest that they represent just another confusing facet of the 'UFO enigma.' Cultural differences in UFO sightings have been noted and discussed for a few years and China is likely to represent a similar cultural interpretation.

Where their interpretation becomes intriguing is working out what actually happened when it's passed through the filters of a repressive society, culture/language and then through the feedback of UFO blogs to get to us.

There have been reports from there for some time. Good mentioned some in his '88 book, and a UFO research group there back in 1980.

China is a nation about to outgrow its tolerance with its government methodologies...

Seemed that way just before Tianamen in '89. :) I think most Chinese, while not wildly enthused about their government, at least credit it with economic success and are leery of the instability which may accompany major change.

Galactic Federation of Light ...what is this?

It's another organization of imaginary "Space Brothers" that a variety of people claim to "channel" messages from that amount to nothing more than dime-store philosophy and sophomoric space opera. It's a hoax, a sham, a scam, a bunch of noise that needs to be ignored and discouraged.

Yeah, if these people were muted the world would be a little more quiet and might bring some answers to the field.
