Is there a link between cattle mutilation and "mystery creature"?

I suppose, we don't really know if they exist at all or if the photo was just a cool-looking hoax. If they do exist, there is one specimen obtained from a cave, which may or may not mean that the species dwells in caves. Bio-luminescence might have a function in caves or in certain aquatic environments, but what function would it have on the land surface. If it is a cave creature, we would then have to establish the existence of caves at all of the mutilation sites. And, yeah, finally, we'd have to rule out the weirder stuff.
