I was a participant at OMF when Mr. Carrion showed up there and tried to get some cooperation in dealing with the "California drone" shipwreck. He was professional and courteous to everyone there, and was met with the most idiotic and childish load of bullshit imaginable. I was among half a dozen honest people there who got disgusted and left when the motives and the methods of the OMF management became painfully obvious. (I was later retroactively banned!) I suspect Mr. Carrion has some pretty solid evidence if he is bothering to take on that bunch of clowns. I just thought the owners were crazy fools, but maybe there is more to it. Some of the moderators are and have been good, decent people who I count among my friends, but the people running the show are warped in one way or another.

Good luck, Mr. Carrion. I hope you brought a good pair of hip waders.

I'll second that, he would be a great guest. And he is in a good position to advocate for some change being the director of MUFON. So far I have really liked what I've heard from him. He exposes the BS(which undoubtedly needs to be done) while maintaining a level head when confronted with more intriguing cases. We need more people like him and he would probably appreciate the tone of the Paracast.

Open minds forum?? I've looked there a few times. Seems more like Brain Obstruction Forum. Open minds are fine, but ... (you know what I'm going to say)

Its refreshing to see person Mr. Carrion in his position at Mufon. It gives me hope that someone can sift through all the nonsense.

I think it's a good time to review Grey's Law:

“Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.“

We don't really know which it is in this case. Yes, it looks very much like the way disinfo is spread, but then bogus arguments and false logic are certainly not the exclusive property of the disinfo business. You can find the same kinds of rhetorical nonsense in a political discussion in a dive bar on a weeknight. Or a Sunday morning "news" show.
 
I would really love to see James Carrion on your show. I quickly became a fan of his work after watching "UFOs over Earth: mass sightings in México" I also consider him one of the few making an effort to separate the signal from the noise.
 
Whatever happened to Ufos Over Earth? I love how James makes Jamie Musson look like a crook on the Mexico episode. He really does make a good leader at MUFON.

That show was only for 3 episodes. Yes they showed how gullible Jamie Mouson is. Remember "IS NOT A BALLOON"
 
This is an interesting development as coincidentally I too recently started to wonder about Openmindsforum and whether they are on the level - I even mentioned it in my very first post on this site. They don't seem to be interested in serious discussion of the subject. Their "Extraordinary UFO Cases" sub forum didn't even have a mention of Rendlesham until I added one and even then it was largely ignored as were other points I put forward. Having said that I remember a guest on the Paracast, I think it was Peter Robbins saying that Mufon have never acknowledged the Rendlesham incident or published any article on it. I don't know if it's true but that is also strange. There is something very fishy about Openminds though.
 
OMF provides a safe haven for kooks like Lear, while ignoring or even banning reasonable people who bring relevant evidence to the discussion. Bogus with a capital B. Any outfit that still promotes the Serpo garbage is either nuts, or up to something unsavory.

Yep he recently started it apparently. I've just come across him and he seems a pretty clued up guy. He also debunked a diving company who said that they had located a crashed ufo (think this was in 2006). I'd not heard of this incident at all ... but it seems like he debunked it/them pretty quickly. Need a few more like him in the ufo field. :)
