Paranormal Adept
Hey Don, I caught a repeat episode of an old UFO interview you did with Joe Firmage. I was wondering if you had any contact with him since that initial interview? Is he even still active in this field?

I did a quick google search on him and discovered he rejoined USWEB in 2011. That was the company he initially left back in 1999 in order to pursue his interest into UFO's. Sadly, the most recent information about him isn't positive. He was arrested for a DUI a few weeks ago.

This "bad luck" could merely be a result of poor judgement or perhaps signs that certain individuals are making things tougher for Mr. Firmage, think Lazar and his numerous arrests for pandering and housing dangerous materials etc...

I am amazed at how many UFO researchers or those associated with this topic start out sane, seemingly well-grounded and law abiding, but end up insane, institutionalized, killed, arrested, or otherwise sent on a downward spiral. I am thinking of Benowitz, Mike Younger, Bill Cooper, John Lear, Danny Casolaro, etc. Heck even your good friend (note sarcasm) Kal Koroff started out with a pretty run of the mill investigation into the Billy Meier hoax, now look at him :)

Regardless, he might be an interesting guy to reacquaint yourself with. If I remember correctly, he still owes you another hour of radio time :)

Limits, recall what Grey Barker said oh those many years ago? "UFOs are a bucket of shit!"

You, however have a very valid point. Paul Bennowitz, Michael Younger, even Korff seemed at one point to have been on the right path until they weren't. Some of the guys you mentioned were always a bit off however. I refer to Lear, Cooper et al. Danny Casolaro (sp?) just happened to delve into things he shouldn't have and paid the price. Your above post reminded me of John Keel in one of his books years ago, or perhaps it was a conversation I had with him where he talked about "Bigfoot or Kennedy" investigators who ended up dead or in institutions after their foray into those topics. The fact of the matter is simple though many people will not believe it ... this stuff is not all fun and games. This stuff can be dangerous to your health ... or at least your mental health. Why? I am not sure but in some cases it is like getting hooked on drugs .. it can and sometime does ... take you away. Buyer beware.

PS Joe Firmage? That is a totally lost cause.

We touched on this issue in another thread recently where Chris mentioned Gersten of CAUS and the big jump he was planning. Some people never seem to have any real problems while others stray from the "right path". And that begs the question, what is the "right path"? Everyone seems to have a different viewpoint. How do we decide? What gives people the right to judge? There were some really good points made on the Dec. 30th Paracast show.
