This Oregon man received a 3 year prison sentence for shining a green laser pointer at a Police Officer. The officer complains of alleged "retinal scaring" caused by the laser, shined at him for a brief instant from 423 feet away. The man has no prior criminal record. Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan, terror of the new west, receives little more than a few wrist slaps for multiple DUIs and probation violations and more.

Its all about status and money. Wesley Snipes has no money so he is going to prison. OJ Simpson had money then kills two people and goes free. Later on OJ is broke commits a crime and goes to prison. Im surprised Bernie Maddoff went to prison.

A lot of the people he scammed were rich. Plus he's being made a scapegoat for the (often technically legal) crimes of Wall Street generally.

It's a laser, the distance isn't relevant, he might as well have been 4 feet away. Plus he's harrassing a cop on duty. Not that it matters, if one private citizen did this to another they'd have a legitimate complaint.

That said, three years is... well, nuts.
 
Yes ,the criminal justice system is just wacky(still the best in the world) but it seems every time you have chance for corruption it will rear it's head.I live in Ca. And this pot thing is crazy, one of my employees was caught with under an ounce and they are just letting em go out here, but elsewhere or in the military they send your butt to prison for years. Nut's !
 
another example would be the christmas tree bomber , the fbi got bored of waiting for a terrorist attack so they sell a angry somalian kid a bomb then arrest him ....the kid who is probable just got off a ship from living in absolute hell hole of a country that is somalia which i personally wouldn't even call a country now , the country is a cross between the universe of mad max ,terminator 4 and waterworld ... , i actually feel sorry for the kid , he most likely was mentally unstable , angry and mis-led ... i'm rambling on here...
Everyone knows Lindsay Lohan earns her living on her back , its a crime to imprison prime beef in my opinion anyway even do she may be past her sell by date, perservatives do some amazing things these days =P
