Krauthammer on Iran

Did you see Charlie's latest column? For at least the second time, he excoriated the Obama administration for not publicly supporting the Iranian dissidents, with strong rhetoric and then some. This, he thinks, will help bring about the end of the Iranian regime. Krauthammer is full of it. Iran's hardliners have long sought to delegitimize the opposition by painting it as a tool of foreign governments. Siding openly with the opposition would only appear to confirm that and hence play into the regime's hands. Obama's wise hands off policy actually seems to be working, as the dissidents have become more numerous and widespread over the past six months.
