Lake Superior UFO Wave

Free episodes:

Anders

Skilled Investigator
I'm currently doing some research into a "ufo flap" that only the residents and their family's really seem to know about. The area is in Northern MN along Lake Superior 30miles or so from Duluth to probably Canada.
I'll start with what I recently reported for my Grandparents to MUFON.

My Grandmother is a P.h.d. who taught at Valparaiso Indiana University. At the time of this sighting she was a member of a traveling Christian folk gospel band, the "Cross Bearers." My Grandfather (who was driving her touring bus at the time) is a Lutheran Minister. The following is his report, as I requested of him through email:

GRANDPA:

"We seem to remember that our sighting near Silver Cliff, between Silver Bay and Two Harbors, was in August 1972. We were just coming back from a Concert tour of Grandma's "Cross Bearers" singing group. It was very late (around midnight) and I was driving the bus around Silver Cliff. Many of the girls were sleeping, but a couple of the girls shouted out, "UFO, there's a UFO out there!" We all looked as I slowed the bus down. We only had a quick glimpse, since I couldn't stop the bus in the traffic. We remember it looking like the body of a wingless DC 10 or a 747 with lights shining around circumference. It was suspended above the water and we were looking down on it. By the time I got the bus stopped in a safe place. We could no longer see it. We heard that the men working on the loading dock at Taconite Harbor (about 30 miles from where we saw it) saw the same phenomenon. Also people witnessed it from up on Good Harbor Hill near Grand Marais. You have to realize it was at least 37 years ago, but we still have a vivid memory of seeing something unusual."

</td></tr></tbody></table>Note: The narrow winding road they saw the object was ontop of a very steep cliff. So when my Grandfather talks about finding a place to pull over to get a better look, he had to get off the cliff first. This road was so dangerous that it had to be shut down. Presently you drive through the cliff. Also as an other interesting side note. Another witness of this event had the last name "Keyhoe". I currently trying to hunt her down.

But this is just one of many! Stories I heard growing up. My grandparents best friends had seen one night a craft land near there cabin. After a few mins or so a couple of little guys came out of the craft and approached the living room window and peaked inside".

Kids in this area would go home telling there parents "Mom! Dad! I saw a Flying Saucer this morning while waiting for the School Bus! Then at recess we saw it again! But it was hovering lower in the sky!" The parents would just shrug it off thinking their kid had a vivid imagination. A the next day see a flying saucer while canoing.

Some ya.....This was an active area. Anybody now anything about this wave here in forum land?" Either from being a witness or hearing it from?"

OOOPS... I'm late to work:eek:
I'll be back to spell check and revise this post later to fix all the horrible things I did to butcher the english language. So "Grammer Nazis" don't judge me yet:rolleyes:

It's kinda funny that the first half of the post has perfect grammer and spelling whereas the second half of it looks as if it was written by, ummm... it could use work.
