the story got a full page in one of Sydneys sunday papers, the gist being its a hoax.

looking at the original pic, its not even a real freezer, just some slabs of polystyrene taped together to look like a box.

 

if these guys were for real and serious about making some money from it. they should have struck a deal with a proper museum to analyse , verify and then create an exhibit which could be toured with some of the money going back to the finders.......

 

i would also imagine there must be at least one govt dept that has juristiction over the body, everyone is worried about catching colds from chickens these days, youd think an unknown primate might pose a similar threat, if i was health minister in that state my ppl would have the thing in quarantine quicker than you could say "equine flu nearly buggered the melbourne cup last year".

 

i read a post somewhere where someone said the hoaxers will look lovely in cement shoes....... i concur
