Loren Coleman?

Has it really been since 2006 since Loren Coleman has been on? I think he's a pretty good guest, and from the archives it seemed that Gene and David liked him, too.

Any particular reason he hasn't been on again, or is it just the case of schedules not matching up?

Seems to me crypto-zoologists never have anything new to say. The deep forest growling, shadowy videos and odd footprints are basically the same stories, wrapped in newer technologies, we heard 20 years ago. Not a fan.

Actually the just finished expedition to search for the Yeti in Nepal turned up some more footprints at an altitude no known primate lives at. They were in a location that took the team 2 days to reach after being dropped off via helicopter.

Sure, there hasn't been any new evidence for Bigfoot in quite some time, but for other cryptids things are happening. Just recently the UK Dept. of Wildlife (or Forestry, can't remember exactly) has publicly stated that, yes, there are big cats in Britain, something that was said to be impossible for quite some time.

Loren also runs a blog called the copycat effect concerning suicide and other crimes that the media sometimes stirs up without knowing it. A recent attack at a day school in Sweden was linked to Heath Ledger's death, oddly enough. Loren has more in his bag than just Bigfoot. His discussions on Phantom Clowns are pretty darn creepy.

I like Loren. See no reason to have him back on though. Just visit his site. Updates it daily. His first show was basically it, unless you have specific cases you wish to recommend.

I like Lauren as well and I'm a fan of his work. A lot of people don't take the cryptid stuff seriously, probably because of all the hoaxing.

My family and I grew up in pretty remote mountainous areas of western Canada and I have two uncles that have had close in bigfoot sightings.

I also spent some summers on my uncle's remote cabin far, far away from civilization... his closest neighbor was on the other side of the mountain. We once went over to say hello and he showed us some fresh prints and a cast that he just made.

I wouldn't say I'm a hardcore "believer" in bigfoot, but I'd be surprised if there weren't something out there.

That statement assumes what they found were footprints. In truth, they don't have any idea what created the impressions; shifting winds and freeze-thaw cycles can play games. But this absolutely supports the point I tried to make. There's nothing new, except the technology being employed. In this instance, they took a helicopter, and so used newer technologies, to uncover the same old thing...a footprint that may or may not even be a footprint, let alone attaching the foot to an as-yet-unknown creature.

I can appreciate that some listeners may enjoy cryptozoology. Personally, I find the topic tremendously tedious.
