Actually I guess the reunion probably won't happen, the owner demured in getting it back. If you can, try to find the bbc newshour for 9/26 podcast for the story as the program host had the PREVIOUS owner and the police offer holding the pinkie on his show and the officer was trying to entice the man into taking his finger back

Interesting story...i was reunited with a body part in 1999 when half of my right ear was severed by a Volvo 1800 ES rolling over on my head, the surgeon in the ER imbedded the severed ear under the skin of my ear canal in order to preserve it for future reconstruction which i declined... my body has now "eaten" my severed ear.
