Mario Game Over

Free episodes:

Speaking of Mario, anyone played the latest (true) entry into the franchise? Super Mario Galaxy on Wii.... its supposed to be brilliant. 3D platforming at its purest and best.

Unfortunately I dont have a Wii, but I thought about getting on for Mario Galaxy. But the only other game on the system I would want is the new Metroid game, Metroid Prime 3. The whole motion controller gimmick really doesnt do it for me, and neither does all the Wii's 'casual audience' game like Wii Fit, Wii Music, Wii Sports.... egh. Gimme a brealk.

ROFL, poor mario - great video though ;)

Ive not played Mario Galaxy, but it does look pretty good.

IMO the motion controllers are not a gimmick, they are a totally new way of interacting with the console. They are certainly more involving, immersive and natural to use. The wii fit balance board can be used for other things too such as the snowboarding games, again a more authentic way of playing the game. I think a lot of harcore games will pass by the console as its not the market the wii is aimed at, thats probably where an Xbox360 would be more at home. That said, I think when the true value of the motion controllers is realised, more third party game support will appear.

Yeah If Im honest I agree that its not a gimmick. It just needs to have AAA devs behind it to get the best out of it. Theres too much shovelware on the Wii atm.

Galaxy is the best Mario in many years,IMO - and the controller's not gimmicky at all.In fact, that was the thing that brought me back into gaming, after struggling to find compelling titles after "The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time",on the ol' 64...

PS:Metroid Prime 3 and Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess are great games as well...

Last console I bought was for someone else, a Sega Dreamcast, which he gave back to me due to getting a pc himself, and they stopped making games for it. I been stuck on PC games for well over a decade. Since Duke Nukem 3d came out.

Another vid.
