Here is my prediction:

We will find microbial life on a future probe but scientists will be so cautious that half of them at least will argue that it was from contamination from Earth and of course we'll have conveniently forgotten to put a DNA sequencer on the probe to get a definitive answer. Or worst the DNA experiment will discover a remarkable similarity to life firms on Earth and again be declared contamination. In either case it'll be argued for many years afterwards until
we see a wiggling worm caught on video footage from digging under the soil near pools of liquid water.
