what the deuce? How can you just 'suspend' a campaign?

So is this financial situation gonna be grounds for Pres Bush to postpone the election until the 'crisis' is over. I believe there was such a bill passed allowing him to do this in the case of a crisis/disaster.
 
He was slipping in the polls a clever move on his part.I believe McCain is not too happy haveing to face off against Obama in a debate.So i guess any excuse is better than none.
