You can see objects as small as 5 meters across pretty well in the lower altitude higher resolution photographs I have been looking in the LROC browser. You are essentially looking at footprints and objects under 3 meters in the Apollo 11 image I posted above.

 

Most, if not all the objects that I know of contained in these "strange photos from the moon" appear to be kilometers across and they are always in low resolution high contrast images.  I have come to believe that is why the early Russian and American lunar images are the ones that contain these oddities and not those taken by more recent orbiters.
