In an unexpected development pertaining to the evidence rich, but widely censored, Billy Meier UFO contact case in Switzerland, a prominent long time director for MUFON, the most well known international UFO investigation organization, broke ranks with official policy and expressed his support for the Meier case.

Major George Filer was an Air Force Intelligence Officer who not only had an extraordinary encounter with a massive UFO on radar over the United Kingdom but later, in the 1970s while he was at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, found out that an extraterrestrial biological entity had been shot at Fort Dix. The Extraterrestrial fled to adjacent McGuire Air Force Base, where it died on the tarmac. He testifies that this life form was then picked up and taken to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Afterwards, many of the key personnel on the base who had a connection with this event, were quickly transferred. Major Filer also points out that the ridicule factor has been very effective at silencing people who have seen ETs or UFOs, and has helped to maintain secrecy.

I can only hope it is a temporary thing. The Meier UFO cult is one the true anathemas of ufology. I was taken in by the thing back in the 80s ... briefly ... very briefly by the cool UFO pictures. As things progressed and the UFO photos became ...less cool ...and I started to read more about the guy, well ...there you have it. George Filer? Say it ain't so!

Again, I have to say if this "Contactee" was real in any way whatsoever, his contacts would be communicating real, actionable information instead of the horse-hockey they are attributed with. Can I get a witness?

MUFON has always had a few loose cannons.

At least there's always Peter Davenport for NUFORC. There's a man who's committed to the cause and fatigued to hell, but still rocking.

We'll all be laughing on the other side of our faces when 'disclosure' comes and tin-foil wearing hippy aliens take over with suspiciously 'toy-looking' laser guns. :D

Maybe James Carrion bailed while the timing was good! I have been subscribing to HQs MUFON's Journal, and sometimes I had to scratch my noggin over something pretty NewAgey.

Well...it was bound to happen. The more I hear about MUFON the more I have to shake my head in disbelief.

Sure there were a couple of Meier photos that looked impressive to me when I was younger. But the second I saw those home movies I seriously laughed. I never looked back after that.

Good luck regaining any sense of perspective or respectability MUFON.

Wholly Jeebus. WOW. just WOW. Why does every major UFO organization seemingly commit suicide? Very disappointing with regards to Filler. He never struck me as stupid.

I never liked Meier. The supposed "pleidian" origin of the ETs was enough to wreck his credibility for me. How could a more sophisticated system exist in much younger star systems? Still, what he says about "god" being imaginary, at least, rings true.:D It's not uncommon for contactees or others to report some things which sound idiotic and others which make sense. Reminds me of the intelligence tactic of mixing good info with bad, to discredit it...

He'd be a great guest ! Knowledge about the cognitive processes that lead him to support Meier is priceless.

How he supports his perspective... I respectfully wanna know ;)

any one who believes in the meier scam must of eaten too many "space MUFON's"

not good reading
" George A. Filer, MUFON's Eastern Region Director and a retired Major in the USAF, prominently displayed one of Meier's UFO photographs from the pre-computer 1970s,"

so not only do these people buy into meier they also want to re-write history!

A guy runs a UFO group on the meetup.com website here in the town where I live. He showed us UFO pictures he claimed to have taken. They depicted worthless pixelated blobs of nothing. I said that his pictures were worthless and here is why. Then he kicked me out of his UFO group. Fun times. He is also a Meier supporter. Not that this is on topic or anything. Just felt like chiming in. I've been reading the threads for the last few months, just not participating.

From cut and paste dino pics to a UFO made of a trash lid and some xmas oriments HOW can ANYONE sane say that this case is any thing BUT a HOAX!

I would have to say, this has been a pretty dissapointing day on the forum. Entertaining without doubt, but the recent influx of high impact stupidity can take its toll. Meir? The ol' pull a Pledian out of hat trick. Chemtrails and flesh hungry Reptillians. I need a memory swipe.

I met George a couple of years ago and liked him, though I have to say he doesn't come over as either critical or deep-thinking.

Meier has always clearly been a fraud in the classic mould of George Adamski and Truman Bethurum et al, and his photos of paper-mache saucers a joke. At least he could've tried to fake some photos a bit more convincing than those. Unbelievable how some folks go all doe-eyed and gullible when sold a line about our benign saviors from the stars who are going to help us defeat the nasty evil secretive new-world-order-conspiracy humans so we can become citizens of the galaxy, or whatever.

I remember getting into a quite heated argument with Wendelle Stevens a few years ago about Meier - Wendelle was another Meier disciple, surprisingly, insisting his "Prophecies" were true.

"High Impact Stupidity" is a nice phrase which should have a common acronym, Hotkafka.
