In previous posts I mentioned the old rock house that I used to live in with my grandparents. A lot of random little haunting things took place there. Sometimes the activity was very frequent and other times months would go by without as much as a creepy creek. A lot of people who lived in the house saw an apparition at some point. Most of the sigtings were seen once people got to the top of the stairs and turned to go down the hall. Also a lot of people would see a female looking out the window if they were outside. I only saw an apparition once. It didn't do anything to me, but it was a very scary experience.
I was about 13 or 14. It was probably about eleven at night and I was reading on the couch in the living room. I never stayed upstairs much if it was night, because that was where most of the activity took place and I was a wuss. Everyone else was already in bed, so I just had a little clippy book light on, so I could see to read. I do remember it being a brighter night than normal. I remember moonlight comming in the big side window in the living room eventhough there wasn't a street light or anything on that side of the house. I somehow didn't see anything appear, but I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. I turned a bit and a female was just standing there looking at me. Well I can't say for sure if she was looking at me, but deffinately toward me. She didn't move. She was just standing there. I pretty much froze. She was only about 5-6 feet away. As I mentioned she was looking toward me, but I couldn't make out her eyes. It was just kind of like shadows or something for the whole eye socket part of her facial structure. I can't describe how creepy she looked. She was like something out of movie. She was really pale and had hair that was longish and dark. Her mouth was also in shadow and I really don't remember much detail about it. The next day I drew a picture for my grandma of what I saw. I think I had kind of exagerated, but I had just drawn a long dark oval for her mouth and eyes that kidn of resembled those masks like in the movie scream eventhough she really didn't look like that. She was wearing what looked like a white nightgown. It wasn't flowing or lacy, just simple and looked like cotton. I remember the detail around the neck with a light pink ribbon threaded through the neck bit and tied with a little pink bow in front. It was long-sleeved and went down to just a bit before where her ankles would be. I don't remember if I saw her feet or not. I was mostly looking at the face area and overall view. She looked like she was maybe 16 or 17. Like I said, I was just froze there with her looking right toward me. It felt like five minutes, but in reality, it was probably only about 45 seconds before I un-froze and landed in my grandparents bed. Their bedroom was right off of the living room and from the bed, I could still see the aparition through the doorway in the bedroom. I shook my grandma to wake up. I would shake her and look up and shake her some more and look up....the apparition was still there. My grandma woke up, but wasn't really awake. I made her turn to look, but when she turned around, the apparition was gone. Figures!
I still remember that face as if it was yesterday. The apparitions that the rest of my family described does not meet the description of the one I saw. One of theirs had red curly hair and one was a way younger girl. No one else saw the pale, dark haired, no eye, scary one that still gives me mad chill bumps. I know what I saw and I know I wasn't asleep, but it almost feels like someone else was the person experiencing it. It was just so surreal.
There is not a scary movie out there that will ever phase me because I have seen this in real life and nothing will ever even compare. Looking back, I don't think there was anything mean about her, she didn't move toward me, she was just there. It really doesnt make the experience less scary though.
