I live in a suburb of Hamilton ON, Canada. On Sunday we got 175 mm of rain in about 6 hours. Here's some pictures.

I've often wondered how this can happen. We get flooded viaducts in my neck of the woods every spring and summer during a major downpour. And invariably theres always one or two who get stuck like this guy! I envision them saying...I can make it I can make it...

Ha! I was just in Hamilton yesterday. Took me an hour of driving around just to find an open route up the friggin' mountain once I got off the QEW. Never seen anything like it before.

I'm not too worried, I live on a hill with a bunch of wealthy people. Weather tends to leave the wealthy alone up here.

The rich have been spared none here in Calgary, a couple of years back, they were the only ones in town sand-baggin, when the Elbow River floods.
Good to know you're not on a rooftop, New Orleans style, Methshin.
Enjoy those late-season mosquitoes!:D

It's been in the triple-digits (Fahrenheit) for 40 days straight now with less than 1/2'' of rain where I'm living. When it does rain, in these parts, it pours. Believe it,or not, rain doesn't stick to the sides of hills very well. The last big down-pour we had was about 3 years ago. I came across a flipped over truck whose driver tried to pass a creek when the flood waters were coming down. All that was found of his remains was a pair of underwear.

could you send some of that water my way? we are living through another drastic fire season here in sunny ol' BC. forest fires to the north, west, east of us. so far, south is missing the smoke plumes and clouds, which is good, cause at least we have one exit ;)
