This is the most perfectly executed wall splat I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Hope it brings you as much joy as it has brought me.

are you saying you have watched more of these wall splats? and they bring you joy?
i must be missing something.

no, just this one in particular. I think it's more of an appreciation for his seemingly natural ability to do it. I mean, would you or I really be able to do what he just did? Let's break it down.

In the first few frames, you can see that this athlete is consulting with his coach I presume, letting him know that he's not going to let him down. Perhaps there was a past incident where he didn't perform to his, now obvious, talent. I can't be certain, there wasn't a preface, but hey, FINGERS CROSSED!!!

His approach was something you only see in professional sports, ranging from hockey, to football, even bowling. His gauging of stride to distance was spot on. He knew exactly how far his strides should be in order for him to have the proper amount of distance to execute the jump.

Which brings me to the videos shining moment. The way this athlete was able to get horizontal like that made would even make spider man impressed. His limbs all outstretched for maximum "splattage", if you will, coupled with the respectable height he was able to achieve, obviously due to his impeccable approach.

I feel the only real failing moment was the landing. I would have scored it a 7 or 8 had I been judging. Seeing as how he was seemingly uninjured from the splat leads me to believe that he was holding back, something a true athlete never does, though I'm sure his coach will be working on that with him during the off-season.

I'm sorry you're not catching all the subtleties of this video pixelsmith, for it really is a true blend of art and dedication to sport. I can only recommend that you perhaps watch some hockey to give yourself a little more insight as to what these athletes go through, as so you will not miss these things in future postings.

born in wisconsin and raised in minnesota i think i know hockey. it was required in phy-ed and considered a sin if you didnt play every chance you could.

i guess the video is a bit funny when you think about how silly it is to do something like that. thanks for sharing!

Wow, comparing a wall splat to hockey? (I'm a veteran of dozens of hockey related injuries from over a decade of playing.) I just don't get the connection. However, if it put a smile on your face...I say awesome. Smiles are too far and too few.

A perfect 10.
