Tyder what model HP have you got? if it is the 2011 Pavilion dv7 then they are very bad for overheating issues (lots of punch packed into a small space with not so good cooling ability).... They are also hard to clean, I clean the one I have once every other week with canned air and take it apart every now and then to clean it right out.
To keep it cool I use a cooling pad as well just to keep air flow under it.. My not book never has this problem but then again I have other issues with that now and then.. most likely operator error
