Problem here would be that oar fish only dwell in rather warm waters (compared to the northern seas), do you have any info about Regalecus Glesne seen in 'cold' waters for that matter, Pixel ? Honestly curious, as the vid actually seems to show just that indeed.

I don't think its range is fully documented. If it is not commonly in the north, could it just not get lost? Especially with the water getting warmer etc...

i don't have any info at all on them being in colder waters. it seems that they surface when sick or dying. if one was really sick then it probably didnt care where it was swimming to.... or it could be a sea monster.
 
It reminds me of a school of fish feeding on something close to the surface or a mating ritual. Who knows though, most of the ocean has not been explored, so anything that is not identifiable could be called a monster.
